94 seadoo gtx carb question

Okay, I cleaned my carbs over the weekend (including the micro filters located inside the carbs). I put it all back together and took it out. At low rpm the thing ran great however, it cannot maintain full throttle for very long before it seems to bog down and die. When it dies I pull the choke and it fires up right away, every time. I brought it in after a short run and my wife took it out briefly. It bogged down for her too but never died.

This is what I did with the carbs when they were out. I cleaned the micro filters, took carb cleaner to the carbs. I inspected the diaphragms and did not notice any stiffness or holes in them. One of the micro filters did have debris in them. I cleaned it and put it back in.
Unless I should have replaced the diaphragms regardless of how I thought they looked I can?t think of what is wrong with the thing. Do I need to adjust any of the settings on the carbs themselves??

Any thoughts or guidance with this issue would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

Re: 94 seadoo gtx carb question

alright bud, if their plyable (diaphrams), then there good. Pulling the choke, and it runs then, indicates a "lean" condition/fuel starvation. Did you clean/replacet he fuel selector switch? Did you notice any green/blue slime at the fittings on carbs? You can remove the "res" line on the fuel tank, and removethe fuel line, from inline filter to carb. Install THAT line, directly onto the "res" fitting, leaving now, the fuel selector switch in the "off" position. All your doing is bypassing the switch and inline filter. I've came across numerous skis which had either/both of those items, being the culprit.

Re: 94 seadoo gtx carb question

I did not clean the fuel selector switch. When I pulled the gas lines I did notice the infamous green color on the inside of the hose.
I will pull and clean the selector switch.
I got lazy and did not replace the gas lines (even though I bought replacement lines). I will bang that out too.
Thanks for all your help.
I will post an update once the task is completed.

Re: 94 seadoo gtx carb question

After cleaning the carbs, fuel selector and replacing the grey gas lines I am happy to say that my gtx is 100%. Thanks for your input and help on this matter. The thing reaches and maintains 45mph without as much as a hickup.
