My 1995 120 HP Force starts and runs great with a new battery. My charging system reads at about 14a so my voltage regulator seems to be good. I try to restart to boat in a week and the battery is no good and the motor does not start again until I buy a new one again. I try recharging the battery and disconnecting after each use because of the parasitic draw but still no luck. I have spark so that isn't the issue and my grounds are tight. Maybe the electric choke going bad? The battery is a 1000cc Marine starting battery from Autozone. Any ideas please???

Do you have a battery switch? How about a radio? The radio with didital clock can drain the battery. The battery might be bad.Even new batteries can be bad.The depthfinder can draw even when powered down.
To test for current draw: turn off EVERYTHING,hook up a test light between the ground wire and the negative terminal. If the tester lights up then something is drawing power.Remove fuses till the light goes off.If there is no light on then the battery is probably bad.Good luck.J
