just get to the shift linkage, i like them in reverse, do not turn the shift rod, or it will be out of adjustment. spray some WD 40 on the impeller and housing, then put pressure on the housing while turning the drive shaft clockwise, it will go right together. remove spark plugs so you can turn flywheel to align splines. do not pinch the rubber grommet with the water tube.
