95 50 hp evinrude no power

need help idels fine but took it ot the lake and would not throtle up .could this be the cursed s.l.o.w system going wonlky. i did have an over heat but i thought shutting down and restarting would fix.

Does that engine have the S.L.O.W system? Was it running o-k before the overheat?<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

How long did it overheat? What is your compression? Fire on all cylinders? Most motors will run fine with low compression, and even missing a cylinder, and you wont notice it until you wanna go fast.
