95 and 97 120 force

I have a 1995 120 force that isnt running but has alot of new parts on it. I can buy a 1997 120 force pretty cheap my question is are the parts going to be interchangable on these 2 motors ? Thanks for any help Mike

the ignition systems are different.

Go to mercurypartsexpress.com put in the serial # of each motor. Look up the parts in question for each motor then compare the part #.
