Last week I did a complete rebuild of both of my carbs. Yesterday I was finally able to start the motor and with minor
adjustments the motor cranked and ran perfect. However, both of my carb bowls are leaking . I did replace
the gaskets and even took them off and reinstalled them again to make sure they were in the groove correctly.
And now they still leak and not a drip but leaking bad. These gaskets are a little different than the old one.
These are some kind of fiber material. The old ones was like a rubber material. Can I use a small amount
of RTV (black) to make the gaskets work better ? Or is there something else I could use ? And yes I know
for sure its the bowls leaking. And yes the floats are set correctly. Just seems the gaskets are not sealing
correctly.I have tightened the bowls down snug but afraid to tighten to tight. Any suggestions ?? Oh this is the
big gasket not the little ones for the screw.
