Hello all,
I had previously posted a similar question on this motor. The question is two parts:
1. What is a simple way to align the main bearings with their dowel pins in the block? I have Joe Reeves method and I was wondering if there are any others.
2. Once the pins are aligned, how do you hold the crankshaft in position while installing the pistons? I had four installed and crankshaft moved on me and I must start all over again. It is getting very frustrating trying to align bearings and then holding crank in place.
This motor is a 1995 Model J150GLEOM. It has a top oil seal and a lower ball bearing with a seal carrier holding a lower oil seal. There are no " crankshaft heads" to bolt in place to hold crank.
thanks in advance for all help
