Hello, I've done alot of searching the threads around here, and can't seem to find a fix for my problem yet, was hoping someone might be able to point me in a direction.

The other day a friend and I were boating around and we stopped to anchor for 30 minutes or so, when I went to turn the key to the on position, the warning horn stayed on for a few minutes, turning the key from off to on several times and the horn finally turned off.

We boated some more and stopped and the horn came on again and I have not been able to get it to stop since. It's just a constant tone.

Unplugging the temp sensors has no effect, If I unplug the wires from the oil tank, tan or black, the horn goes off. The water pump is still working and it doesn't appear to be overheating.

I also notice that the horn has three wires going to it, a black ground, a tan and a purple. If I unplug the tan or the purple the horn goes off.

Anyone have any ideas what I should do? Do I need a new oil pickup?

Thanks for the help.

Is this a "system check" unit, all of the lights in the tach? If so, they fail like that, the horn goes on and won't shut off. I have 2 of them, on one the horn won't shut of, and the other one the tach itself doesn't work but the horn does.

I don't have any warning lights in my tach, unless all the bulbs are blown, the horn used to just beep once when you turned the key to on.
