I'd like to replace my foldout seats with pedastal seats in the cockpit and copilot, but there's a pedestal box that the foldouts are mounted on. Can I remove these without fear of there being a gaping hole below them, or are they mounted on top of another deck surface?

I would be very surprised if there was not a full floor board under them. If they appear to be "glassed" down, there may not be.

What makes me hesitant to say, for sure, that there is a subfloor is that Maxum's are built by the Bayliner folks. They do some strange things.

Try, CAREFULLY, drilling a small hole down through the floor in the seat base. Be careful, don't go to deep. If you go through more than 1/2-3/4" of material, there is a subfloor.

Make sure to seal the hole up with 3M 5200, or better.
