95 OMC to Volvo Outdrive Replacement

Hello, thanks to everyone who helped with my last question and please bare with me because this is my first boat and my knowledge is lacking. I have read conflicting reports but the boat i just purchased has a 95 OMC outdrive (#3868052) that is the Volvo type. I believe the upper and lower units are both shot. So my questions are:

1.) Will a Volvo SX series outdrive be a direct bolt on replacement to the gimbal housing without any modifications? Specifically the SX-C.

2.) If the upper is still good, will a Volvo SX series lower be compatible?

Post your model number. (I don't specifically remember your other thread) Model number will tell us exactly what you have.

If it's a 95 model boat it may have a 94 engine/drive combination.

If it's an "interim" model, no. The SX drive (OMC or Volvo) will not directly bot up to the transom mount/gimbal
