I have a '95 Regal rush jetboat with sportjet 120 engine. We've had problems with a lack of power. It has been in to the shop about 3 times, and they can't seem to help.

It used to pull skiers / tubers no problem. Now I am having a problem getting my 75 pound daughter going over 10 mph. also, we sometimes have problems with it getting on plane. Once it get's there it's fine, but does seem to go much slower than it did originally, down probably 10 - 12 mph from original speed. (40mpg down to about 30). The prop seems to be turning at a high speed, but for some reason not able to give the boat adequate thrust anymore.

ANY ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

look from under the boat and be sure there isn't any rope or trash wrapped around the pump impeller, use a flashlight and inspect in the intake grate for things that don't belong in it also see if the impeller is bent or damaged,, plus do a compression check for the cylinders and be sure all the carbs have proper fuel in them, if one needle is sticking it will loose power from a lack of fuel
