I bought a 95 Glastron last year with a 5.0 Volvo. Overall I have not had many problems with the boat but the bellows continue tearing and having to be replaced. Twice they tore this summer when the boat was first put in the water. The rubber looks completely fine just torn. I have taken the boat out probably ten weekends and have replaced I would guess 5 of them. A mechanic friend looked at the boat and does not see anything obvious ( has not been at the lake with me ). Any ideas what would be causing this. Boat runs fine other than that. Thanks.

Exhaust or driveshaft belows? What model outdrive do you have?

It is on the exhaust. The tears are always under the hose clamp (boyfriend said they are not too tight). I will have to look at the model number in the am.

Buy the OEM bellows as they have only 4 x 1/8" holes, where as the after market ones seem to have slits in all the ribs where they usually spilt..
There may also be some reason why it is tilting up too far, for instance the trim tilt cylinders might have been changed out for a pair that does not have the tilt angle sleeve fitted internally.

The outdrive is an SX. The last one that split was an OEM.

I have torn 3 or so exhaust bellows in my 4.3GL SX-M. Seems the engine mis-fires (loud pop out the back end and boat hesitates).

I am currently causing a possible leaning problem. I have changed the filter, the gas, switch to ethanol free, high octane and am now schedule a carb re-build for next weekend. Although over the last 4~6 weeks it is mis-firing less often and has not done so in the last 3 outings.
