Bought this motor last year and ran it several times on the river with no problems. But, recently I run the boat for about 30 minutes and the motor dies like I just throttled back- won't restart either. Any suggestions before I haul it to the boat shop.

Is it hot? Strong tell tale? Fuel Pump? Fuel line/fuel pickup restriction?

Now that you mention it, I did notice that the motor was very hot- some steam coming off the exhaust. Also this all started after I ran the boat out of gas one time- ever since then it's never been the same. I changed the filter, but didn't get better. I also have noticed fuel leaking from the motor right where the fuel line goes in, almost like its flooded.

You most likely have picked up debris in the tank when you ran it out of gas. This clogged the carb, causing a lean condition in one cylinder and overheating.

A compression test will show this easily. I bet on #1 toasted.
