Should there be a pee stream all the time or just when the stat opens? I removed the stat and it pees all the time, but with it in, it only does it when the stat opens... has a strong stream when it is peeing.

Flow from the tell-tale will only occurs once the water temp reaches the point at which the thermostat is rated. It may be marked on the stat what that temp is - I don't know for sure but it is probably in the range of 115-120 degrees. That temp of water feels VERY hot to the touch.

There are tests you can perform to see if the stat is functioning properly. It simply involves placing the suspending the stat in a cup of water at a known temp (using a thermometer) and checking when the ball opens on the stat itself.

Water flow, especially when cool, can be sporadic from a TT stream governed by a thermostat.

Thanks,rg glad to hear that it is working o.k. Also, there isn't any water spitting out of the two exhaust ports below the cowling, just exhaust

I'm not 100% sure but I believe there may be a very fine mist of water exiting those ports with the exhaust but it i so fine you may not notice it unless you place your fingers in front of it. Again I'm not 100% sure on this but I faguely recall checking my own motor once to see.
