New here. I have a 96 Faststrike 150 J150GLEDB. Earlier in the summer my son and I were at the lake for the weekend. I had let him use the boat all day Friday and Saturday. The motor was running great both days, right up until it didn't. He got towed back late Saturday evening. Not really sure what happened but the starter was fried. Got it home, replaced the starter and she fired right up. Went to the lake and when trying to get on pad 2500 RPM is all it would muster and just push water. Fished around a while and went home. On the muffs it would act like running out of fuel. Ive had the VRO bypassed for a few years so went ahead and bought a stacked fuel pump and replaced the unit, along with the primer bulb. The next weekend was no different. Limped around a bit and went home. I bought one of the easy timers and the timing is correct, 110-120 compression in all 6 holes. Has in the last 2 years new-coils, plugs, wires, powerpack, stator and rectifier. Fuel line collapsing or leaking air? Pulling my hair out(what is left) on this thing. Any thoughts/advice?

Probably limp mode or slow mode from a failed temp sensor or it's over heating. Lots of posts on this so you should get more opinions. Brown wire on the port side temp sensor sends the signal to go into limp/slow/safe mode. Posts say to unhook brown wire and test but you should make sure it's not overheating. Temp sensor might be hard to find or expensive. Hope you figure it out.

Thanks. I wouldn’t think it’s getting hot. It does this within 5 mins of starting. I haven’t shot it with temp gun but heads are far from hot while running. I did buy the actual OMC service manual. I’ll check the sensor

If it is the sensor eBay is your best bet. Good luck.

Check shift switch on motor linkages.----Perhaps running on 3 cylinders.
