'96, 90hp CDI

I think I know where the capacitor is electrically but where is it located physically? Other than the three coils, I find no other pckgs bolted to the block other than what my brother says is the voltage regulator(it's mounted so that you are looking at the bottom of the ckt board) and the three coils....I read about two different CDI units but I can not find even ONE!

If yours looks like this only black, you have the Mercury CDM ignition system. The coil and CD pack is integrated into one unit.

Thanks to both of you that replied.... I'm having trouble convincing the owner that his stator is ok. a mechanic sold him another one because the green/white, white/green wires only read 470 ohms. #1 & #3 cylinders fired ok and #2 fired after changing the coil. What does the "M" stand for in "CDM"?(probably "Module"?).
