Hello everyone! Getting ready to pull the power head and replace the gaskets. My question is, do you recommend using any kind of gasket sealer?

For the head gasket, no.
It has seal built into the gasket.
That's generally the procedure.
But in some cases you might need a thin coat of silicone to make it seal.
After the install, do a compression test.

Is there a problem that your changing the gasket?

Check the exhaust cover gaskets and the gasket under the block against the midleg.
This is not so uncommon on these engines.

I do not think there is a problem with the head gasket, if you would have some other problems too.

You can check by running the engine without the hood, if it does not stop with the hood off then the problem is not in the head gasket.

The usual place is where the block meets the adaptor plate, the silicone goes and leaks.
Then the adaptor plate gasket (under the plate) it starts to leak..

So as I'm taking things apart I noticed the engine bolts weren't very tigh . A few took a lot more force to break than the others. So something I should've checked first, could possibly be my problem? Or should I go the rest of the way and change the gaskets? Im gonna say keep going but just wondering what you think?

Tight the bolts and check if it solve your problem or go all the way through and change the gaskets.
Then you know that thing is in order.
It is up to you.

IF??? you needed a wrench to break them loose???
Then they were probably tight enough.

"the silicone goes and leaks.
Then the adaptor plate gasket (under the plate) it starts to leak"
The silicone after years of use breaks down and leaks form.
