Hi All,
Having a few issues with carbs on a '96 Johnson 150 Ocean Runner that I'm hoping someone can help with. I had a rather significant fuel leak start on one of the carbs that looks like it's being caused by a a missing plug in the bottom of the float well. The "plug" kind of looks like a BB in the other (non-leaking)carbs. Has anyone had one of these plugs fall out, and if so it is ok to just plug the hole with epoxy? The carbs are all plastic in manufacture.
Also, I decided to rebuild the carbs after this happened, and noticed that the OMC rebuild kits come with a nylon washer to go under the brass seat of the needle and seat assembly. There were no nylon washers under the seats in the carbs when I took them apart, and I'm certain they have never been rebuilt. The washer changes the geometry of the float assembly enough that there is much less "swing" from open to closed. Should I leave the washers out? The floats previously swung all the way to the bottom of the well, but now have much less movement when adjusted.
Thanks
