96 Johnson 25HP problem at full throttle

My 1996 25HP Johnson starts great idles great and runs great till you give it full throttle. It feels like the prop slips intermittently. Any ideas?

Could very well be that the hub, which is made of rubber, is slipping. Take it to a prop shop for a rehub. This is a common problem.

I'm having the exact issue with a 6hp Johnson right now that's on a duracraft fisherman. Did you get it re hubbed? If so did it fix it?

You should start a new post as this one is old.
In the mean time you can mark your hub and prop if you have a hub and then check your marks after the problem occurs. If your marks are not lined up then it’s slipping.

Is this a 1966 model 6 HP or a 2005 model ??-----A 2 stroke or 4 stroke model ?-----Model # must be posted for the best diagnosis !
