96 Kaw STS Electrical Problem

Button switch good, new starter relay, battery good, starter good, fuse good. Push start button and nothing, then located broken red wire in electrical box, repaired, hit start button, starter cranked great. Thought problem solved. Put electrical box together, hooked up everything, push start button and nothing. Checked and rechecked all wiring connections, everything looks fine. Can cross starter terminals with screw driver and starter cranks.

look for a weak ground wire, either the main engine ground, or the ground in the box. also use a ohm meter and check the starter button operation where the wires terminate in the box. if it worked when you fixed the red wire, I would wonder if you knocked something loose when reconecting it all. double check the wire repair.
