i have a 1996 Scout Dorado. It has a 96 saltwater series yamaha 115 on the back...the problem i am having is that @WOT the boat jumps up around 6100-6200 rpm's and the rev limiter kicks in and i still have a little throttle left at the control. the boat jumps out on plane in an instant. i have been around plenty of boats in my time and i believe it may just be under-propped. it looks to have the stock prop on it, i'd say a 13D x 17p, just a guess looking at it. if someone might know of a better prop to correct the rpm issue, it would be greatly appreciated...

You need to be a little more clear."jumps up"Do you mean it is ventilating or simply it runs at 6,100/6,200.Without speed and specifics on the boat it's hard to get a grip on the rpm figures. It would seem you are under propped. I don't have 96 specs but 89 115 is rated at 5,000 rpm.
I would think that you wouldn't want to run it much faster than 5,500.but I'm pretty conserative.
