I have two yahamas that spent a couple hours underwater. We got them up and pickeled them right away and replaced most of the wires on there, then rewired the whole boat new gauges and everything. Brought it out on sea trials and the engines are running like a champ, but I am getting an alarm for oil and overheating. Both engines are pissing fine and trasferring oil so I looked in the manuals to see if I could find anything and it mentioned that a clogged oil filter would cause that. So I did the emergancy bypass of disconnect them and the alarms would sound when I started up both engines but would then clear and the flashing oil would clear but the temp would still be flashing. Does anyone else have any suggestions on what else it could be while I am waiting for the new Oil sensors??

Re: 96 Yamaha Alarms

on twins the alarms self test at key on power, if the digital tachs were not correctly set for 2 stroke the alarm icons flash constantly.
why replace the oil switches,no sensors on that motor, whentransfer is normal ?
