97 glastron se 175 fuel sender

gas gauge don't work on new to me 97 glastron se175 and I think its the sending unit, problem is, I have no idea where it is, tank is buried in the hull. Anyone know if there is an inspection plate and where it would be located...thanks in advance, I did a search and nothing came up

The tank is located behind the front seats and is basically under the feet shown in the pic. The pickup and sender are located near the rear of the tank, so once the rear seat is taken out there might be an access point..

But before you go ripping things apart, verify that the gauge works, be a shame to be ripping the boat apart when the problem was in/under the dash

Depending on the type of tank,plastic, you may be able to find it with a metal detector. Then put in an inspection plate. If it's an aluminum tank, probably not.

My 1999 Glastron SX175 has intermittent fuel gauge. Been working less often lately. Interested in seeing how this goes...

Wow, that is an amazing thread. Sadly does provide to much detail on the fuel tank or sender and how it's setup.

If my 175 SX is similar it should be under a fiberglass floor panel. Sadly I have to remove the entire bench seat to get the panel out though. Not to difficult in complexity, but will need another person to heft the bench out.
