I can't find any posts on how to reinstall the recoil spring.lots of posts for everything else but can't find this.I know how to rewind it but what is the trick to get it on the pin on the top of the cover? Any help would be great. Thank's Tux.
The trick is patience! Rewind it inside the housing. Use a thin screw-driver through the disc to 'adjust' the end so it lines up with the pin. Use protective glasses in case the spring jumps out. Use a marker pen on disk and housing to make alignment marks for pin and spring loop.
Ditto to Haff,.....+ more patience,....and after you think this was originally done in the Keebler tree , take a deep breath and try again , you'll get it
Thank's guys for the info and trick.Recoil went in easily on the housing first try(got lucky). The hardest thing was to line up the pin with the inside eye but that was not bad. After i got the hang of it the hole thing did not take 1/2hr. Once again thank's for the help.Tux.
