Im looking for a prop for my 1978 Evinrude 85hp. The prop that was on it it busted up pretty good, and I'm not sure what pitch, etc. this motor needs. It is on a 1978 Ranger 17 foot bass boat. Thanks in advance for the responses

The prop will have the markings on the hub where the nut screws on,or in between the blades. If not take it to a prop shop or marina and they should be able to help ya.

mine has a 19 but needs a 17, this is on a 18' Larson. you need to know what pitch you have and the rpms to match it to your boat, to many factor come to play:confused:

A 17 pitch would be a good place to start, according to the prop selector.

Since the selector doesn't go back that far(in year model) that recommendation is with a 90 hp, which is basically the same motor.

13-1/4 X 17" pitch Propped too many of those to keep count starting in 1970...which was also the stock prop.

Now you have your prop. Any brand will be suitable and you might find a used stainless on ebay.

Grasshoppa, take heed to Bob's comment. This forum can save you a fortune.
