Ok today I bought a 98 Triton with a 115hp evinrude the boat is in near show room condition except once I got the water to it the gas seems not to fill the bulb so it act if it wants to run but will not idle more than a few seconds. The hoses look fine no cracks i can see.
Next the worse i notice no water peeing out the upper motor. I shut the engine down I suspect an impeller issue but how hard it to drop the lower unit to find out or is this best left to a outboard mechanic... If it was my 79 glastron bass boat i would not mind hacking into it but since this is a lot newer i am a little leary....
I bought from a car dealer that took it in trade and i know i should of been more cautious i hooked the ears to it at the lot but boat was out of gas and they said it ran like new. I live 3 hours away and it was late this afternoon so I took thier word for it. I was going to ask them to repair it but worse case if i have to whats the best approach. I have not seen a 98 in this perfect of condition boat wise but if the motor needs work I just hope not to be out too much money... I less was well learned i should of been more patient but have been working a deal on this boat for 3 days and once i arrive to get it I rushed the inspection. My fault so no need to harp on that subject just need the right track to get her on the water running.
