Just looked at a 1999 cadorette 16ft bow rider boat. Its has a 1998 90 hp force outboard on. Whole package is real clean, motor looks be in real good shape, looks new under the cover! I was really impressed. Boat comes with shorelander trailor. I don't know alot about these motors, last boat i had was fuel injected.
I was shocked to find out that it was not oil injected:eek: Can anyone tell me a bit about the motor? what is the gas to oil mixture, recommended oil, something to look for, stay away from.
Boat was not in the water, hooked her up to the hose and it fired up right away, ran good, bit smokey but thats to be expected after being stored. There is some minor damage to the bottom of the motor, keel. Apparently they clipped a rock, were coming in to dock so it wasn't fast but enough to break a small peice off, and apparently check up the prop a bit. It has a new quicksilver prop on it. Looks brand new, been out 3 times with new prop.
This boat has power trim guage, volts, speedometer, tach, full cover, no rips, seats have no rips, even the carpet is in great shape. 5000.00 cdn takes it. Thats like what, 3,500.00 US. Comes with trailor, all works, two life jackets, paddle (new), legal safety equipment , tow rope and tube. Trailor tires are new with bearing buddies. Sound good?

Force was bought out by Mercury in the mid 1990's. So it's probably a Force made by Mercury. Mercury no longer makes forces now so some parts will start to get hard to find. I would have the compression checked at best it will be about 150# on each cylinder but more important each cylinder should be within 10# of each other. The mixing of oil is no big deal just mix it in the gas tank at 50/1. I use the walmart oil in mine and have had no troubles with it. The damage to the bottom of the lower unit should not be any problem either. Just in case i would have the oil drained in the lower unit to see if there is any water in the oil.

Other than that it sounds like a good deal to me.

If i buy it, i will be having all fluids changed, compression checked, vacuum , plugs, everything done right so i know its been done.
50/1, see, call me stupid but i just don't get it. The boat has two 25Ltr quicksilver tanks, so what the heck is 50/1? How much oil goes in those 25ltr tanks?
I hate mixing crap, i guess its because i'm just not used to it. My merc efi 4 stroke was so easy.

50/1 is the oil to gas ratio and since i cant tell you the conversion from gallons to liters i would suggest getting one of the clear bottles with all the conversion on it. It tells you the amount of oil to gas you need. Most stores that carry any type of boating supplies will carry it. Just keep track of the amount of gas you put into each tank and add the appropriate amount of oil to the gas. Hope this helps

50 units of gasoline, 1 unit of tc-w3 oil, synthetic if you can get it.

1 liter gas - 20 ml oil

10 liters gas - 200 ml oil

25 liters gas - 500 ml oil
