When my gas tank gets low it starts to sputter and lose power, I then change tanks and add fresh gas and it will start but when I acelerate it has a burst of power then stops, I continue stopping and starting until I get back home. I check the oil that is usually fine but add a bit clean the spart plugs and I have the same problem. I checked the hoses for leaks and nothing is apparant. The following day I try to start it and it runs good, this has happened several times so far. Any suggestions?

Your engine is a 1998, Otim.

You may have water in your fuel, Or you may have a failing fuel pump, air leak in the hose, or debris in the carb float bowl.

Good luck. :)

JB, thanks for the advise I have the same probelem with both tanks, but I can add some dry gas to the tanks and see what happens. The line looks good but I have two differnt fittings on the tanks (could that cause some air leakage)? As far as the fuel pump is that a big job and can you recommend a good repair manual to buy? Thanks

Most wrenches prefer the OEM manual, Otim.

www.kencook.com

But I find the aftermarket manuals easier for novices to follow, and they don't require special tools, fixtures or equipment.

http://www.iboats.com/ubb/

Good luck. :)
