I was thinking of purchasing a 98 150hp DFI Johnson Oceanrunner from a local marina. It has the Fitch DFI, and I was wondering was this one of the year models that had so many problems with the fuel injection?

Yes, Trebor. '98 was one of the worst years for the V6s.

Thanks JB. I would hate to buy another problem. Any suggestions on a specific omc model around 130 to 150hp, 1990 to 99? maybe the carb models were better? My old Seadrive died and I gotta get something on my boat this summer before it kills me!

An early 90s carbed 150 should be a good engine, Trebor, if it has been well cared for.<br /><br />Good luck.
