98 Merc 200 Off shore

I have a 98 Merc 200 Off shore when I runn it with the motor tilted straignt up and down an alarm sounds beep beep beep beep beep beep<br />continusly. <br /><br />The tell tails are fireing out water and my temp guage reads fine, it smells as though the motor is getting Oil <br /><br />when I tilt the motor forward the alarm stops. Any thoughts<br /><br />Please help ASAP

you have an auto fuel /oil mix tank, its probably thinking the oil level is low/to high and giving a warning alarm.

The oil res was vapor locked. I loosened the cap <br />a half turn and started the motor untill oil started to come out from under the cap tightened the cap. and alarm stopped.<br /><br />I ran it last weekend and knock on wood it seems fine.
