99 115HP Evinrude CHECK ENGINE LIGHT :(

I have a 99 115HP EFI evinrude that the check engine light won't go off. I got the motor last fall and put it on the pontoon and started it and it ran no lights or errors or nothing....

This is the first time i have started it since then and now it will start and run and sound really good but the check engine light comes on and it rings for 10 seconds or so and then the sound goes away but the light stays on.

I was planning on taking it out tomorrow so any quick ideas are greatly appreciated, thanks for all the help!!!!

Comp, My '98 OMC Service Manual advises that the 115HP motors do not have a sender for the check engine light. It is unused. The V6 motors have a vacuum sensor which indicate a fuel restrictio and light the check engine light.

The wiring diagram shows it to be tan/orange wire. You should find it unconnected somewhere. It may be grounding at this point.
