99 200 hp johnson low speed miss

yesterday i was out trolling and noticed what i call a low speed miss. like while running 1600-1800 rpm engine seems to be running quite ragged and does it until it boat gets on plane after accel. after that it smooths right out and runs fine. carbs were pulled and cleaned earlier this year. only 15-20 hrs on new plugs (champions). any ideas of what might be going on?

Could be time for a de-carb treatment. Carbon buildup can cause hot spots in the cylinders resulting in some pre-detonation of the fuel. Just a guess.

You might have missed some junk in one if the jets when you did your carb work. Did you blow them out real good?
