99 Mercruiser 5.7 stalling at low rpm's

Boat runs great at speeds. After the engine is warm and either stop or try to get into reverse the engine stalls out. When I restart the only way to keep her running is to rev the motor.<br />Any ideas?

When was the last tuneup? Do you have a manual? Also sounds like shift cable could be going.

Probably does need a tuneup. No manual with the boat. Boat seems to shift fine just does not maintain the idle.
