While out this weekend the motor started running rough and smoking terrible. After shutting it down 2 cycle oil completely drained out of motor for the next 30 minutes. The resivoire located in the boat drained completely. The resevoire located on the motor is still full. I had noticed the night before that it appeared to be smoking a little more than normal.
Coincidence i hope is that prior to the oil leak I had drifted into shallow water at night and upon take off hit something.

Did you look for a cut, broken or dried up hose feeding the oil pump below the main oil tank on the powerhead? Where was oil draining out of the motor? There is no oil pan on your motor so oil shouldn't be just draining out of the engine, it would have to come out of a broken hose or the oil pump itself. The remote tank on your boat being empty could indicate that it kept filling the main tank and in actuality the oil you saw was overflowing the main tank?

I think a bit more info is needed from you.

could be low voltage to the oil control module or a bad engine float switch.
good news is the odds of engine damge are negligible.
but with the key off and the transfer pump keeps running I would check the oil control module ground, input voltage on the yellow wire and the red wire and the module itself.
engine tank is vented to the airbox, overfill it and the excess oil swamps the lower carb air intakes and makes a general mess.
