A little tip from years ago. Whether it still works or not is for you to find out..
St. Johns River just below Lakewood and straight out from the canal next to the old Dupont Estate. Go straight out from the canal, put anchor so you are on a line from the Fuller-Warren Bridge/Baptist Hospital in downtown J'ville through Point La Vista, to you. Used to be great spots, sheephead, ocassional rays, etc. (20 years ago.) Let me know.

i remember that area, anchored there last weekend for the Blue Angels show. caught 2 cat fish, during the show.
