Gorgeous day today, low 60's. It's been awhile. Good day to take down the Christmas lights from the house and trees. House lights down and put away. Noticed multiple boxes of decorations had slipped off the shelf. No biggy. Took extra care putting them back up and made sure everything was solid.
Went out to take down the lights out of a few crab trees. About 1/2hr work. Back down stairs to put them away. The "1" box of decorations on the top of the others on the ground and glass everywhere. Of course, it was a soft side w/o a sealing top. It had sections for bulbs, hence, that's what we used.
Now if I would have put that box someplace else, no broken glass. But noooooo, I had to put it back where it just fell from.
Thankfully, we didn't have much for "old" stuff. What we had, only 1 survived. My wifes favorite ornament which is a red glass mitt with fur on the wrist, toast!
She's not home, yet, she's out helping my daughter get her prom dress altered. The wife will not be very happy.
