a little calculation help?

23' with 8' beam...brain not working and i'd like a little verification before spending the bucks...stringers and deck being replaced

numbers i'm coming up with are in the 45 yard range (at 38" wide) for some roven. i'm not holding anyone accountable but does that seem realistic? that's about 20 for the deck and 25 for the stringers.

how much cloth/roven/mat are you guys using?...size of project too.

23x8=184/9=20.44 sq yds x 2 40.88. use scrap for fillet. i don't order by the yard, so i don't know if it is right or not. i by locally by the foot.

what type of place do you get it locally from? i've looked around a little and it's twice as expensive as online. i'd rather not have to wait.

would you use any cloth in this type project?

when you say cloth do you mean weave mesh?

You want to use mat for all structural construction as weave will tear off like a wet band aide. You can do weave over mat if need be, but mat always goes first.

we have a discount marine store, also there are shops here that i buy scrap.

i do very little glass work anymore. i hate it.

i have mat and cloth, no heavy roven.

do i need all 3? scrap the cloth and go with roven instead?

Use mat and roving for all of the structural components, stringers, transom etc, cloth is OK to cover the plywood floor, but I rarely use it for anything unless epoxy is being used.
