I posted this in the "Alumacraft" forum but people rarely frequent that area???

So I pulled off the garbage transom wood on the QM a few days ago. I reinstalled some red oak both in and out and coated with quite a few coats of epoxy. Im not too sure what the boat came with from the factory but Im pretty sure is was no where near the 2 5/8 I replaced it with lol.

I also installed the "new to me" 85 hp Mariner I picked up a month or so ago. That process is exhausting:eek: My brother and I hung it from the rafters in the garage and SLOWLY lowered it onto the transom. Im not sure what that thing weighs but it was HEAVY! luckly my neighbor was around to give us a hand! Once free of the stand all it wanted to do was swing forward. But after a few hours everything was bolted down and good to go!

And then just yesterday I finished my $28 back to back seats, yes I said $28 lol. I got the idea from another member and like the style, however he used mahogany not 2x4's... As much as Id like to restore this old girl it just isnt in the cards at this point. But I am pleased with how the seats turned out. They will work for now, atleast this season and MAYBE over the winter I will decided if I'll duplicate them in mahognay. The plan is to put the fuel tank under the port side seat and battery under the starboard.

So thats that for now. I hope to be on the water in the next week or so. I was able to start the motor up not too long ago and she ran like a top! Now just to get her on the water and find out if I purchased the right prop!
