I've asked a lot of advice on iboats so I want to share a solution to a problem I was having....

I'd been battling a problem with the engine on my restored Aquasport 19-6 for several months. The engine is a great looking 2001 Suzuki 115 2-stroke that came from the Great Lakes. It ran fine at speed but loaded up and flooded out at idle. I'd had it looked at by two different mechanics whom I trust and they couldn't figure it out. The mechanics replaced virtually everything on the engine (fuel pump, computer, injectors, checked the reed valves, etc.) and still no go. Very perplexing. I hated to give up on the motor because it has great compression and ran like a scalded dog at anything above 3,000 rpm.

Anyway, I took it to a third mechanic and $501 later the problem is fixed. The throttle position sensor was bad. The engine now runs great!

So, if your Suzuki 2-stroke won't idle you may want to have the TPS checked!

you may want to look at the technicians hands, monkeys dont have opposabile thumbs.
I hope you did not spend to many bananas finding such a simple issue.
I fight this on a weekly basis, seems most so called techs simply have no clue how each part of the subsystems affect the rest.
wish it wasnt so but it is what it is.
usually, not always, a bad TPS on that motor will increase idle speed. a misajusted one will do nutty things.
glad ya got it fixed, that part rarely fails but its an expensive part :)

My total cost was the $501. I wasn't charged for the other work. The most frsutrating part was the loss of use for over a year!
