so I bought a T-Top for a great price...needs just a little work..... was thinking of putting it on my 22 ft V5 Holiday.... i love the closed bow and since i am fishing more far from the shore , Id like to have some protection from the sun and the wind and waves.... Im thinking once the t-top is on I can have a enclosure made that can be easily installed and removed.... It seems most T-Tops are on center consoles....but i love the thought of out of the way pole holders and the sun protection , plus storage above head, but i can walk out the back with still lots of room........anyone think its a bad idea?

T-tops are usually on center consols so that you can walk around to the bow. on a dual console or closed bow boats like your holiday, it will be in the way as the mounts will go right where your seats are now. boats like your holiday usually have the monkey-bar type radar arch bristling with rod holders. some have the bimini mounted to the arch.

Keep in mind it will change the center of gravity and thus the way the boat handles. Snap roll will be exaggerated. Fuel usage will increase. Add in an enclosure (large sail) and things could change considerably.

Big difference even in how the boat tows with the enclosure up. Knocks roughly 1/2 mile per gallon off my tow vehicle.

I'm not saying don't do it. I wouldn't trade my hard top and full enclosure for anything.
