Well, I think my project boat ('78 20' Grady White Gulfstream) is just about running like it should be!

I would not have been able to complete this project without the help of some of the people on this board.....especially bondo!

You guys gave me advice before I even bought the boat when I asked if it was a good set-up (Mercruiser 165 IL6).

I completely rebuilt the engine and wound-up rebuilding the outdrive I purchased on ebay. Bondo advised against the outdrive rebuild but so far so good!!

Bondo was instrumental in the design of my FWC system, he even gave me an end cap for my manifold ( I paid for the shipping... :) )

The last hurdle was setting up the timing correctly. The timing tab was so corrided I could not read it. I put a post on the board and guess who came to my rescue again? Bondo! He sent me pictures of an engine he had....I think he even had to remove the belt to get a clear shot.

Well, now the I know the timing is correct and I don't have to worry if I am too far advanced and going to burn a hole in my new pistons. The operating temp came down a little and I can run with confidence.

So I just wanted to say thanks for all your help, with a special thanks to bondo. It's nice to know there are good people left in this world.

I hope I can give some help to someone here....
I have learned a tremendous amount during this project.

Thanks again...........Tony
