Is it possible to get a gimbal bearing out of its carier by turning it 90 degrees ? I saw it at dockpartners' site and i have a new one (Siera) in my hands but it seems impossible to turn it while keeping the carier steady.Has anybody tried this?

Re: A1 gimbal bearing question

some one posted on this just other day
mercuriser says dont do it because each tolerance ring is manfactured to match each bearing and if you change only the bearing it will cause the bearing to be loose in the tolerance ring and chatter or be loose and spin in gimble housing. for this reason they recomend installing the tolerance ring with the slots to the inside so its imposiable to turn bearing out of ring and stick a new one in
maybe orignal poster will see and post link again
