Ordered a switch for my Seablaze 3 underwater lights from Abyss. I liked their switch design, so I paid what I felt was a premium for it, as opposed to just using a standard carling switch or the like. This is what it was supposed to look like:

This is what I got:

Standard carling switch and breaker with a plastic backing plate  Yeah, it would work, but it sure don't look as nice.

Paypal dispute opened, awaiting response. Moral of the story to retailers; please update your pictures if you change your designs, they do matter to buyers. Moral to buyers; beware of abyss(?). I'll update when/if they respond and with resolution.

Re: Abyss technology... a resolution

So, after conversing with Abyss' customer service, I'm left feeling somewhat neutral about them.

On the positive side, they refunded 1/2 my purchase price for the switch, a number I feel is fair. The switch they sent me is worth less to me then the one that was on their website, but its worth what I paid for it (after the refund). I'm also pretty impressed with their customer service, in that they were willing to work with me at all.

On the other hand, the misleading images remain on the website, and I was never given an explanation as to why the switch design was changed. So, if someone goes to buy the switch tomorrow, they're going to see the same picture and receive the wrong switch... To me that just seems wrong. Show what you sell, or at least explain it in the description.
