i need one of these for our yukon xl.

was watching truck u on speed channel the other day and they showed how to change ect for the late model gm pick ups.

they mentioned an after market manufacture that builds heavy duty replacements for these and fixing some design flaws inherent with the stock units.

can anyone tell me that manufacture or better yet where to get them?

they said the replacements run around $350 while the ac delco replacement is over $700

I'm assuming your talking about the computer and not the pump.

We use a place near here called SIA Electronics. They rebuild both
ecm's and pumps. If you can't find anything closer their # is 800-737-0915

What's the fault code?

I had one on an astro that threw a code for sticking check valves. I ordered the shop to flush the brake fluid lines and reset the code. That fixed it. They wanted to replace the computer.

hope it helps

Re: AC Delco ABS Control Unit

i would have to check and see what the code number is.

i read it and don't remember just what it was and had two different shops check it. at the time we all had the same result. i had it checked at a shop as i have a cheap code scanner and wasn't sure it was working when i couldn't get a code. the first shop i took it to had a new code scanner and this was the first time they had used it so they wernt sure they were getting hooked up properly. they didn't charge and went to second shop. ended up with same results and determined this was the prob.

it says it has lost communication with the vehicle computer.

a tech in the gmc shop told me if i have power to abs computer that this generally ends up being the abs computer on top of the abs valve-motor block. apparently a common problem

it was about this time last year when i started on it and haven't gotten back to it till now

So did they check for power at the abs computer? Also the connections at both computers need to be checked. Could be as simple as a fuse.

hope it helps
