Hi guys,
I have an 88 Chris Craft 290 Sunbridge Cruiser with Twin 4.3 mercruisers. I bought a 9000 BTU AC unit with the pump and install kir. My question is how much might I expect to pay to have a pro install this. The boat did not have AC before. Is this a job that I can do myself? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Re: AC Install help

Just installing the ac shouldn't be to hard. You should be able to do it. The biggest part is cutting the water intake in the hull and making sure the opening is epoxied well and sealed well so it doesn't leak
You know it's only going to work on shore power unless you have a genny.Don't forget the inlet and pump needs to be bonded

Thank you for the response. I think this is something I can handle I'm just not sure how to tie into the shower sump and exactly where to put the through hull.

Re: AC Install help

The black center hose is the shower drain.
The hose on the right is connected to the bilge pump
The one on the left is for the A/C drain.

Remember when you drill the hole in the bottom, you have to epoxy the hole to seal any wood and fiberglass before installing the water pickup.

Don't drill through the hull when mounting the sump box. Some boats have a pad already built in to fasten the box. You might have to fabricate something

You will need one of theses also.
