Accelerator pump cover question

Noticed small leak from cover, read it's good to switch diaphragm. When I took out the old diaphragm there was nothing in between the diaphragm and metal cover

In the kit the new diaphragm has a sort of thin rubber fabric. This fabric sticks out when I put the cover back.

Checking if this is normal

Also should the throttle spring be pushing on the spring next to pump cover hard or gently. Not sure if I explained this part properly.

Its typical that the accelerator pump diaphragm also is its own gasket. See picture below for the diaphragm for what should be the Holley 2300. And yes typical that the gasket portion will stick out slightly beyond the perimeter of the cover.

Not sure what you mean my hard or gently pressure of the spring. Simply install it back together the way it came apart and you should be good to go.

This is exactly how the new diaphragm looks like.

The old one didn't have the grey gasket on the top, odd

Sorry for the confusion, I was referring to the linkage spring. I read somewhere it's supposed to be barely touching the lever arm, but mine seems tight. The engine seems to be running ok, does it still need adjustment?

Gald its running well. I am still unsure of what componets you are referring to (spring on the acc. pump lever?). Can you post a picture? Also did it all get assembled the way it was supposed to? If yes, i would say you are good to go.

It needs to be just touching. You do not want a gap
