The floor coating on my 20-years old Achilles inflatable boat starts cracking and peeling. Someone told me to get a can of paint to paint over it. Is it the right way? I really like to restore it back so it doesn't crack anymore. It would be nice to look original but I settle for a cure. Not pretty is still OK.

A good friend of mine worked for them and I did some repairs and discussed making ridged hulls in the US for them. There were a few different models, with different floor/hull combinations. If your's is made of fiberglass and is peeling, then it was most likely painted at some time.
