Regarding a 17' bowrider on a trailer, how the heck is it possible to acid wash very bottom of the boat, without rubber suit/mask etc.. Does anyone have an effective method to get at the way underneath.

I may be nutty, but I've done it many times in old shorts a t-shirt. Soak a rag with acid, wipe it on (long rubber gloves). Wear goggles. If/when it splatters on your skin, have a hose ready and rinse it right off. Doesn't hurt short-term. And you'll start to feel it if you miss a spot. Rinse again! Just always keep that hose handy.

Get an ALL PLASTIC pump sprayer (the kind for garden or deck spraying). It works great, the hose extension allows you to spray the acid a good way from your body. Still keep the hose handy, you can't always account for a gust of wind.

By all plastic, I mean no brass nozzles or internal parts. Look at the sprayers at the home stores, they will say whether or not they have metal parts as these are often used for acid-washing concrete, masonry, or wood.

Thanks guys, I'll check out one of the home stores for a sprayer.
