Anyone ever try Active Captain? I just joined it, they give you a yahoo map of the whole country, and you zoom into the area you boat in, and they will have information on different anchorages, and islands, and marinas, and various points of interest.

It is a great way to discover cool new places you never knew about.

And you can add new points to the map, and rate places.

Sounds cool. I'll check it out.
But all that is my Navionics chip in the chartplotter (for the Bay).

The nice thing about that site is the user reviews, though of course one man's treasure is another man's trash...It's also nice if you want to get out of your normal routine areas and look up places to go and what people have to say about them.

Apparently they have a portable device download that they sell. I'm not into that, but the free part is pretty nice imo.

I signed up for it.
It seems like it would be really nice for vacationing. Finding the best places to go when you are away from home.
