Adding a tilt meter/gauge to an alpha 1

I have read past posts and see that I need to know if my drive has a sending unit in order to install a tilt meter. How do I know if this is there already? I'd like to add the gauge to my wellcraft 170 as I'm sick of guessing where the drive is at. Is this an expensive add-on? Not too difficult of an addition from what I have read.
